Finishing Service - Binding

Spark offers a number of ways to bind (secure) more than one piece of paper together. This is necessary for custom programs, booklets as well as our Spark passport design.

  • Drilled holes. We drill holes upon request in many sizes, but the most common are 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4".
  • Eyelet setting. Eyelet setting involves an eyelet (typically round) set into a drilled hole on paper. We can set an eyelet to multiple papers at a time to create a spin booklet or program. It is most common, however, to set eyelets in hang tags or gift tags as it looks more finished.
  • Ribbon tying. This is a very common binding that utilizes ribbon, cord or jute string. You will want to ask us what type of knot we can do with each.  Double-faced satin ribbon is most common for wedding stationery.
  • Sewing.  Our Lily passport design is a perfect example of a sewn edge binding.  We really do sew the printed papers together on a table top sewing machine.  Please reference our ink or paper color charts when selecting a thread color.
